Following the success of the Birmingham hair salon, James opened a second salon in Solihull Town centre. Our Solihull salon offers clients our full range of services, in a stunning, ambient, contemporary salon conveniently located in Solihull Town Centre, close to the shopping mall and transport links.
The salon has 12 chairs with a team of 10 people from stylists, technicians, assistants to the front of the house making sure our team offers you the highest levels of cutting, colouring and customer care offering a variety of services to meet everyone’s desires.

Located in the heart of vibrant Solihull, the salon couldn’t be more convenient for a spot of shopping or lunch with a friend. A stone’s throw from Mell Square and opposite House of Fraser (Mill Lane entrance) there’s plenty of easy parking close by (Mell Square-Warwick Road / Morrisons / Marks & Spencer). We are located directly below O-Spa Health & Wellbeing.
We offer a range of other beauty services within our Solihul Salon including: Beauty Edit and SY Clininc.
Meet The Team
James Bushell - Director
James Bushell has been one of Birmingham’s leading hairdressers for over 20 years. His reputation precedes him and has left him with 4 salons across the West Midlands area. James always had a passion for more creative subjects at school, and it was this that draws him to hairdressing. Having trained with the best, James’ career started in his mom’s garage. Fast forward two decades and the James Bushell brand is well known across Birmingham and beyond. After opening his Edgbaston Salon in 2006, the only way James wanted to go was up. He succeeded with this by opening his Solihull Salon in 2014, closely followed by his Harvey Nichols Salon in 2016 and his newest salon Sutton Coldfield in 2018.
Jamie N – Salon manager
Artistic technician Jamie has been working in the industry for over 12 years bringing over his endless knowledge and experience when he joined our Solihull salon in 2014. Jamie was runner up in the national young colourist of the year completion and Wella trend vision regional winner and UK finalist, on top of this Jamie has gained his Wella master’s degree. Jamie then went on to become the Solihull salon manager in 2017.
Louise - Premier Stylist
Premier stylist Louise works in our Solihull salon. With over 20 years experience working in the hair industry Louise brings a wealth of knowledge to James Bushell Hair. Louise has worked at London fashion week and numerous photoshoots.
Sarah – Advanced technician
Advanced technician Sarah has worked in some of the most prestigious salons in Birmingham for over 20 years bringing her years of experience and knowledge to our Solihull salon. Sarah was a finalist at Loreal colour trophy and has achieved her loreal colour specialist, she loves creating vibrant colour and fashion colours.
Maizie - Premier Stylist
Mazie is a premier stylist working from our Solihull salon. Mazie specialises in cutting, styling and hair up.
She has worked on numerous photo shoots and fashion shows for the Mailbox and Harvey Nichols Birmingham.
Georgie - Stylist
Georgie has been working at James Bushell for over 5 years, starting off as an assistant Georgie has now worked her way up to become a stylist at our Solihull salon.
Georgie specialises in cutting and styling a loves working with long hair and creating big bouncy blow drys for her clients.
LUCY – Artistic technician
Lucy is an artistic technician and has been in the hair industry for 6 years. She specialises in balayage and loves doing big hair transformations, as well as colour she also specialises in hair up and bridal hair. Lucy’ master of skills have led her to develop a loyal clientele.
PIPPA - ARTISTIC STYLIST
AYEERA - STYLIST
Ayeera is a stylist at our Solihull and Harvey Nichols salon, she loves doing classic cutting work for her clients and especially enjoys working with long hair! Not only is her cutting technique superb but so is her styling, weathers its super sleek or bouncy curls you are wanting to achieve, Ayeera will not disappoint!
MIA - TECHNICIAN & STYLIST
Mia started out as an assistant at our Solihull salon, after years of hard work and dedication to her training she has worked her way up to become both a stylist and colour technician. Mia loves creating bespoke balayage for her clients as well as using her cutting and styling techniques to create flawless finishes.

Following the success of the Birmingham hair salon, the second salon opened in Solihull Town Centre. The third salon is located in Harvey Nichols in The Mailbox, Birmingham City Centre with our Sutton Coldfield hairdressing salon opening late 2018, located in the heart of Mere Green on the new Mulberry Walk development – giving customers the choice of 4 convenient salon locations, wherever you are based in the city of Birmingham and surrounding areas. Our latest salon is located in the centre of Manchester within the Harvey Nichols store, opening in early 2020.
